Mayor Lee Leffingwell, Chair
Term: Mayor is designated by statute
*Mayor Lee Leffinglwell is a native of Austin and a retired airline pilot. He graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, then became an officer and pilot in the United States Navy. He was a pilot and Captain for Delta Air Lines for almost 32 years. Lee served for more than five years on Austin’s Environmental Board and in 2005 was elected to Austin’s City council representing Place 1 before being elected as Mayor in June 2009.
Art Alfaro, Treasurer
Term: City Treasurer is designated by statute
*Art Alfaro was appointed City Treasurer for the City of Austin in December 2005. Mr. Alfaro has over 22 years of public service with the City of Austin, with 15 of those years concentrated in managing the City’s $4.5 billion debt management program.
Randy Aylieff, Vice-Chair
Term: January 1, 2008 – December 31, 2010
*Randy Aylieff, who has served on the pension board for over 14 years, was first elected to the pension board in 1996 and is currently serving his fifth 3 year term. Mr. Aylieff served in the Austin Fire Department over 30 years before retiring in 2003 at the rank of Captain. Mr. Aylieff currently serves as the first retiree elected to the pension board and was recently elected to a second term as Vice-Chair.
Keith Johnson, Trustee
Term: January 1, 2009 – December 31, 2011
*Keith Johnson is a Captain in the Austin Fire Department and has served over 30 years. Mr. Johnson is a registered principal in the securities business and a licensed investment advisor.
James Fedro, Trustee
Term: January 1, 2010 – December 31, 2012
*James Fedro was recently elected to a 3 year term on the pension board. Mr. Fedro is a Captain in the Austin Fire Department and has served over 18 years. He graduated from SWT with a degree in accounting and a minor in management.
