Dear Retirees:

The results of the pension board trustee election for the trustee whose three (3) year term begins in January 2008 are as follows:.

Congratulations to Randy Aylieff for being elected to another 3 year term on the pension board! The pension board wishes to thank everyone who took part in this election process. Your cooperation and assistance is appreciated.

In September, the Austin Fire Department celebrated the 150th anniversary of its founding! To mark the occasion, a limited number of commemorative coins were struck. AFD is offering one of these keepsakes for each retiree or widow on a first come, first serve basis. If you would like one, please contact Mandy Ray at AFD Headquarters (974-0149).

Becky Brooks and Danny Stamper invitation to retirees to “get connected” by sharing e-mail addresses and keeping current on pension and related issues. The retirees’ breakfast group has asked we remind everyone that they will meet the second Wednesday in December at the Waterloo Ice House at 38th and Lamar for their December get together and breakfast. However, starting the second Wednesday in January ’08, the location has been moved to the IHOP restaurant at Bee Caves Rd. and Mopac. (1101 S. Mopac-Phone 327-9284). This will be the new location until further word. Contact Charlie Casey at 576-1642 with questions.

The 2006 Annual Report has been distributed to the membership. If you have any questions, please contact our office. We will have another update before year-end, but until then: Have a Safe and Happy Holiday Season!
