Apply for Retirement

STEP 1

MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE AUSTIN FIRE DEPARTMENT'S ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES ("ADMIN") AT (512) 974 - 4100.

They will provide you with the appropriate paperwork that needs to be completed including:

  • Resignation Form (For purposes of retirement)
  • Exit Interview Form
Your termination date or last active day can be determined after meeting with "admin" and that information will be forwarded to the pension office.

STEP 2

MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE PENSION OFFICE AT (512) 454 - 9567. YOU MAY CALL BILL STEFKA OR LINDA ADNEY AT THIS NUMBER.

The following information will be necessary when applying for retirement:

  • Notification from Fire Department
  • Copy of Drivers License
  • Copy of Marriage License (If Applicable)
  • Drop Application and Election
  • Distribution Election Form
  • Optional Retirement Annuity Election
  • Withholding Notice
  • Direct Deposit Form
  • City of Austin Medical Insurance
  • City of Austin Dental Insurance
  • HELPS Enrollment Form
  • Home Phone Number
  • Home Address
  • Month of 1st Annuity Check
